As 2012 kicks off, leading country department store Philip Morris & Son are looking forward to their 167th year of trading, not unique but certainly unusual for a retailer that does most of its business online.
Founded in 1845 Philip Morris & Son moved into online retailing in 2002, and in the 10 years since have transformed the business into a leading online country clothing retailer.
Building on their well established reputation for quality goods and services, the business has thrived even during the tough years retailers have experienced since 2008.
2012 will see an expanded online offering including some exciting new brands, further expansion of their warehousing and despatch facilities and an increase in the size of the customer service team, as they look to continue their impressive growth record.
Managing Partner John Jones commented “It’s really nice to be able to report some good news in amongst all the doom that currently surrounds small business and especially the retail sector.
We’ve managed 166 and the plans we are currently putting in place should build on that to keep us going for many more years to come.”
