We’ve already taken a step in to the new Ladies Barbour Collection for Autumn Winter 2014 and the response has been great. So it’s now time to see what they have on offer for the men…
This year, Barbour are focusing on their country roots; bringing the best of their quintessentially British style to life. As usual, practicality, luxury and quality are at the forefront of their designs, and you can clearly see real country life inspiration coming through.
This season, Tartan takes centre stage for its biggest performance yet. Tartan has always been a large part of what makes Barbour, Barbour, and many people report their favourite part of that staple wax jacket to be the authentic Tartan lining, which only seems to look better with age. Tartan is the essence of Barbour’s character and heritage. You can find out more about this heritage in our Barbour Tartan Blog.
So what to expect from the Men’s Classic Tartan Collection? Staple pieces, timeless style, hints of those traditional rich greens, reds, browns and yellows freshly interpreted for the new season in linings and trims throughout the range.

Picture a weekend away from the mundane with your group of friends, picture a beautiful cottage in the middle of the great outdoors, days spent relaxing and doing whatever country pursuit takes your fancy, then coming home to a drink by the fire… That’s what Country Weekend is all about. It brings to life the requirements of men getting away from the city, conjuring images of relaxation, meeting friends and camaraderie. When on a country weekend, taking in the fresh air, you need the right clothing; clothing which is stylish, yet fit for purpose. Luxurious practicality is the mantra here, smart tweeds, rugged wax, leather trims and Fairisle sweaters – cleverly bringing together nostalgic memories and new discoveries.

Zipping way back to 1894, the Great Coat concept was born. Barbour considered themselves the ‘No.1 protective foul weather specialists’ and their affiliation with the military was a fantastic match. Soldiers came to rely on the warmth and protection the Great Coat offered when they were exposed to harsh elements for long periods of time. Today, Barbour pays homage to their military heritage and have created the Great Coat Collection. It takes inspiration from that original military jacket from the Barbour archives and brings together warm, protective jackets and heavy duty knitwear to battle extreme weather. Wool, wax and fleece are innovatively combined for superior warmth to face those cold winter months.
